Hello Everyone,

We have had a very busy year at Prospect Press. AI has and continues to affect everything. We have several AI-related textbooks just released. Other textbooks have been updated to more fully consider AI.

A huge thank you to our authors, those of you who have provided reviews, Prospect Press staff, and our contractors who have made possible this major transformation of our offerings.

Whew, I’m exhausted. With all the new products, this is my longest newsletter yet. We hope these efforts will serve you and your students well.

We are Introducing three path-breaking books,
two of which are about AI.

The following textbooks cover topics that are so new that many (or possibly most) schools do not yet have a course on the topic. But more schools are adding courses in order to cover this material.

AI for Business: 
Building Applications using Python 
by Tingting (Rachel) Chung and Steve Hojnicki

Students are increasingly using AI in their personal, academic and work lives. However, most do not know how AI works. For them, AI is a magic box. Some business students will seek to become AI product leads, consultants, or managers, and will need a more rigorous understanding.

This textbook teaches students how to build the type of AI applications businesses need and provides extensive hands-on experience. In the process, AI becomes demystified preparing students to become responsible and insightful leaders and practitioners.

SCM with AI for Managers:
Strategies and Best Practices
by Nada Sanders

The development of AI, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies has created a new era in Supply Chain Management (SCM).

This textbook equips future SCM professionals, analysts, and executives with the mindset, capabilities, and tools needed to thrive in the face of uncertainty.

Throughout, AI is presented as an essential co‑pilot to effectively navigate the challenges of SCM today and into the future.

Cybersecurity for Accounting & Business
by Nancy A. Bagranoff and Scott R. Boss

This textbook explicates the cybersecurity concepts that students will need to be familiar with in their business careers.

A special bonus for accountants is coverage of cybersecurity reports that businesses now routinely prepare (SOC II) and the concepts covered on the CPA exam (Information Systems and Controls or ISC).

Our Intro to IS textbooks have been
comprehensively revised to account for AI.

The intro course now must cover AI and its impacts throughout the semester. Ours have been updated to that end.

IS for Managers, Edition 6.0
by Piccoli, Pigni, and Rodriguez

The introduction of generative AI has fundamentally altered the landscape of digital technology. This represents perhaps the most consequential platform shift of our time.

This edition is designed to equip managers with the conceptual frameworks they need in a world increasingly shaped by AI. Edition 6.0 has been more comprehensively rethought and reworked than any prior revision.

IS for Business, Edition 5.1
by Bélanger, Van Slyke, and Crossler

This textbook has been updated twice to fully consider the impact of AI on information systems, business, and society itself.

Edition 5.0 was updated throughout to explore the growing impact of AI. Edition 5.1 includes a new dedicated chapter on the uses of generative AI; practice activities; and text and discussion activities regarding limits of the technology and responsible use.

Two of our programming textbooks
have been revised to consider AI.

Our programming textbooks still teach the fundamentals of coding. However, additional material in two of them now explore use of AI.

Database Systems, Edition 3.0
by Nenad Jukić

The textbook now comes with an article on AI that covers major ways it can be used to increase productivity as well as potential pitfalls to avoid.

Given the potential pitfalls, it is still essential for database professionals to learn the fundamentals covered in the rest of the textbook at a minimum to know when an AI-generated solution is imperfect and how to fix it.

Python for Data & Analytics
Edition 2.0, by Daniel Groner

AI is covered in a new Chapter 20 which is available with the Instructors Resources and appropriate for distribution to students. This chapter covers the nature of AI; how and why to include AI calls within Python programs; prompt engineering; creating a chat program; and evaluating use of AI.

Several other textbooks
have been revised to keep them current. 

Business Data Communications &
IT Infrastructures, Edition 4.0
by Agrawal, Daniel, and Connolly

This textbook has been comprehensively updated to remain current, especially in the face of new technologies.

Big Data Technologies for Business
Edition 2.0, by Asllani and Kreider

This edition has been comprehensively revised to cover the extensive changes that have occurred and to maintain accuracy into the future.

Tutorials are now provided on our website instead of in the text. This way, the authors can update them in response to configuration drift as it occurs.

Mobile App Development for iOS and Android 
Edition 4.0, by Jakob Iversen and Michael Eierman

Edition 4.0 has been updated to follow the latest coding standards.

We have two new textbooks coming in early 2027.

These textbooks are currently in production. They are scheduled for release in February, in plenty of time to consider for adoption for Fall 2027.

Sports Analytics using Python
by Ryan Elmore and Andrew Urbaczewski 

"Sports Analytics using R" has attracted much attention. This new version is appropriate for programs that wish to emphasize the use of Python.

Location Analytics
by Michael Erskine

This innovative textbook brings geographic techniques into the classroom and advances their use in industry. It uses Python along with available code and data libraries to make many types of mapmaking for business straightforward.

At this time,
we have one textbook in development.
