Prospect Press Authors Appointed Editors of Prominent IS Journals

by Andy Golub

Prospect Press is proud to publish textbooks by authors who are leaders in the Information Systems field. Two of our authors have recently been appointed to high-level editorial positions with prominent Information Systems Journals:

Gabe Piccoli--author of Information Systems for Managers-- has been appointed incoming editor-in-chief of MIS Quarterly Executive (MISQE). The mission of MISQE is to encourage practice-based research in information systems and to disseminate the results of that research in a manner that makes its relevance and utility readily apparent. Gabe reported, “MIS Quarterly Executive advances research in information systems. I am honored and excited to be chosen as the next editor-in-chief for this well-respected journal.”

Dorothy Leidner, the current MISQE editor-in-chief cited Piccoli’s “strong record of practice-based research and leadership experience in various editorial and conference capacities” when announcing his unanimous selection. Professor Piccoli has authored many papers and reports for MISQE over the years and served as senior editor on numerous papers as well as guest editor of the special issue on Digital Data Streams.  His 2014 paper titled "Impact of Mobility and Timing on User-Generated Content" was one of the winners of the 2015 AIS Senior Scholars Award for Best IS Publication.

Shaila Miranda--author of Social Analytics—has recently been appointed a Senior Editor of MIS Quarterly. MIS Quarterly seeks to impact IS scholarship and practice as the leading source of novel and accreted IS knowledge.

Congratulations to Gabe and Shaila!  It is a privilege to work with such accomplished and service-oriented authors!
